NEW YORK (AP) _ Scholastic Corp. (SCHL) on Thursday reported a fiscal fourth-quarter loss of $13 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The New York-based company said it had a loss of 38 cents per share. Losses, adjusted for non-recurring costs, came to 23 cents per share.
The publishing, education and media company posted revenue of $284 million in the period.
For the year, the company reported a loss of $43.8 million, or $1.27 per share, swinging to a loss in the period. Revenue was reported as $1.49 billion.
Scholastic shares have decreased 26% since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $28.58, a fall of 13% in the last 12 months.
