‘Secret Affair’ Trailer A Huge Hit On YouTube

The trailer of "A Secret Affair," an upcoming movie starring Derek Ramsay, Anne Curtis and Andi Eigenmann, has racked up no less than 710,000 hits on YouTube just six days after its upload.

The number indicates that it could be one of the biggest hit movies this year, considering that Derek and Anne also headlined the 2011 blockbuster "No Other Woman," which stands as the highest grossing dramatic movie in Philippine history. Note that Anne's performance in the film also bagged for her a FAMAS Best Actress trophy recently and started the trend of a fierce and formidable mistress.

Bulletin Entertainment saw the full trailer of "Secret Affair" during the press conference tendered for its star, and while it does have similar elements (saucy-sarcastic lines, a love triangle, beautiful locations, trademark gloss of classic Viva melodramas) that turned "No Other Woman" into a smash, "Secret Affair" director Nuel Crisostomo Naval said that the new film is not just about "mistresses" but more on how infidelity challenges and changes a relationship with the intrusion of a third party, and about family and friendship.

Derek hinted that "Secret Affair" is sexier than "No Other Woman" in that the new film has no bed scenes because he and his leading ladies don't even make it to the bedroom to do it. "We're all over the place though everything was done in good taste naman," he said, smiling.

Anne and Andi heaped praises on each other.

Andi said that being with an awarded actress was intimidating at first but Anne saw to it that all fears were dispelled from the get-go. "Napakatotoong tao po ni Anne at ni Derek at never po nila sa akin pinaramdam that they are the bigger stars."

Anne, in turn, admires Andi for being an intelligent actress. The former said that many times, they ended up discussing their characters and the script that's why many improvisations were made that they say led to better and more realistic portrayals.

According to a release, "Secret Affair" tells the story of businessman Anton (Derek) caught between true love and a deep-seated affair. Andi plays Sam who unknowingly falls in love with Anton after previous consensual encounters during his time of heartache caused by his fiancée's departure before their wedding. Anne aka Raffi in the film, is the fiancée who, after realizing her mistake, got back with Anton during the time that he is neck-deep in a relationship with Sam.

Others in the cast of "A Secret Affair" are Jaclyn Jose, Joel Torre, Jackie Lou Blanco, Say Alonzo, IC Mendoza, Shy Carlos, Petra Mahalimuyak, and Ge-Ann Abraham. The movie hits theaters on Oct. 24.
