Security camera captures minor carting away P1M worth of jewelry, cash from Toledo City Public Market store

A BURGLAR broke into a jewelry store inside the Toledo City Public Market in Barangay Poblacion, Toledo City, Cebu and carted away close to P1 million worth of jewelry and cash.

The break-in was discovered at 9:20 a.m. on Tuesday, September 20, 2022.

Police are looking for the culprit, who is a minor residing in Sitio Ipil-ipil, Barangay Dumlog in the same city.

A security camera had captured the boy taking assorted gold necklaces, bracelets, pendants, rings and earrings with a total worth of P943,000 and cash amounting to P55,000 from Zoya Jewelry.

The store’s owner, Myra Oplas Zhang, a resident of Tuburan in western Cebu, reported the incident to police around 2:30 p.m.

Based on initial investigation, the culprit entered the store through the ceiling. (GPL, PJB)
