Security guard dies after being ambushed in San Fernando town

A SECURITY guard died after he was ambushed by a gunman who was riding a motorcycle in Barangay Balud, San Fernando town in southern Cebu.

Eugene Dakay Degamo, of legal age, a security guard under Genghis Khan Security Agency who was assigned in Universal Robina Corporation, died on the spot after sustaining gunshot wounds in the different parts of the body.

Police Major Timothy Jim Romanillos, chief of San Fernando Police Station, said the victim was walking toward home in Purok Lawin, Barangay Balud in San Fernando, when the suspect peppered him with bullets along Sitio Siloy Crossing of the same barangay around 7:30 p.m. Wednesday, November 30.

Residents traced the origin of the gunfires and found the bloodied victim lying on the roadside.

They, however, did not notice the suspect nor the motorcycle that he used as the place was dimly lit.

The police are still determining the identity of the perpetrator.
