TO SHIELD Oponganons from the deadly Covid-19 disease, the family of Sen. Sherwin Gatchalian donated 10,000 face shields to Lapu-Lapu City Mayor Junard “Ahong” Chan on Nov. 9, 2020.

The lawmaker’s family will end up donating 100,000 masks to the City Government, according to Arnulfo “Opong” Apura, Gatchalian’s point man in Cebu.

Chan thanked the senator and his family for their donation.

Apura personally turned over the face shields to Chan.

Gatchalian, said Apura, urged Oponganons to stay at home to avoid contracting Covid-19 and prevent it from spreading to others. But if one needs to go out, the senator said one must wear a face shield and mask and maintain social distancing and sanitize hands.

The senator, also known as Win, chairs the Senate committees on energy and on basic education, arts and culture.
