A 71-YEAR-OLD woman was found dead on the seashore of Sitio Tinago in Barangay Talisay, Daanbantayan, Cebu Friday morning, June 24, 2022.

Senior Master Sergeant Erwin Cambal Odeña, desk officer of Daanbantayan Police Station, identified the victim as Lydia Abing De Arca, married, a native of Sitio Tinago.

Odeña told SunStar Cebu that based on their initial investigation, De Arca had high blood pressure and had suffered a mild stroke.

Her husband, Danilo, a barangay councilor, said that around 7 a.m. of June 24, her wife went to the sea alone to go swimming, as this was part of her routine.

Danilo believes his wife had a heart attack and lost consciousness, resulting in her drowning.

Personnel of the Municipal Disaster Risk Reduction Management Office responded to the incident. They pulled the corpse and brought it to the house of the victim, which was not far from the seashore.
