Robinhood, a retail brokerage popular with young investors, shot back on Thursday against criticism of the current "meme" stock frenzy by investor Warren Buffett's longtime partner Charlie Munger, who compared the action to betting on horse races. "It's really stupid to have a culture" encouraging gambling in stocks, Munger said on Wednesday. Canadian farmers reaped record profits last year and are on track to do the same this year, the federal agriculture ministry said on Thursday, as prices for its top crops soared.
