3 Dec– Sharon Cuneta recently dismissed the backlash against President Rodrigo Duterte for alleging that her marriage with his rival, Senator Kiko Pangilinan is on the rocks, saying that the president was only joking around.

As reported on Rappler, the issue sparked recently during Duterte's Bonifacio Day speech, when he claimed that the actress wanted to kick Pangilinan out of their shared home.

Duterte joked, "His wife wants him (Pangilinan) out of the house. But he doesn't have anywhere else so stay. It's true. If you say I'm lying, I'll resign. I'm telling you it's true."

When asked about it, Cuneta said that she just returned from a farm trip with the whole family when she found out about it from her daughter Frankie, who is currently studying in the United States.

"If my husband and I separate, you'll hear it from me! I don't think anyone expects an announcement of this sort from the President of their country!" she said.

Cuneta, who refers to Duterte as "Tatay", continued, "Tatay likes to joke sometimes, as you all know, because Kiko's in the opposition. He has joked a few times against Kiko and about me in the past! Please rest assured that all is fine with my family. My stress comes from other people and things, but right now my family and marriage have never been happier! God bless you all! Love you guys."
