Shaw JCube IMAX opens!

5 Apr – Shaw Theatres Singapore have officially launched their second digital IMAX theatre at JCube Entertainment Complex in Jurong East today, following the successful introduction of their first IMAX theatre in the landmark Shaw Lido on Orchard Road last May.

Their newest addition was confirmed to be officially known as Shaw Theatres JCube IMAX. To commemorate their launch, the company had promotional giveaways of 1000 movie tickets in the days leading up to 5 April, boasting a movie lineup of recent blockbusters and foreign films like "The Twilight Saga: Breaking Dawn Part 1", "Step Up 3 (3D)", "Legendary Amazons", "Romancing In Thin Air", "The Last Exorcism" and "Drive".

Shaw Theatres JCube also held an Open House ceremony two days before, on the 3 and 4 April, where any members of the public were offered the opportunity to walk in for an IMAX Experience Trial. The trial consisted of a sneak preview of what IMAX has to offer in terms of hall design, sound systems and viewing experience.

In addition, SG$5 discount coupons were handed out to the participants to offset for their next IMAX movie ticket at JCube.

Shaw has revealed that their recent grand opening is merely a taste of more to come. Future developments are already underway for another multiplex at Waterway Point in Punggol, which is slated for completion sometime between 2014 and 2015 and will feature Singapore's third digital IMAX theatre.
