RICHMOND, British Columbia (AP) _ Sierra Wireless Inc. (SWIR) on Thursday reported a third-quarter loss of $1 million, after reporting a profit in the same period a year earlier.
The Richmond, British Columbia-based company said it had a loss of 3 cents per share. Earnings, adjusted for non-recurring costs and stock option expense, came to 29 cents per share.
The results topped Wall Street expectations. The average estimate of three analysts surveyed by Zacks Investment Research was for earnings of 26 cents per share.
The wireless broadband modem maker posted revenue of $203.4 million in the period.
For the current quarter ending in December, Sierra Wireless expects its per-share earnings to range from 22 cents to 30 cents.
The company said it expects revenue in the range of $200 million to $208 million for the fiscal fourth quarter.
Sierra Wireless shares have fallen almost 4 percent since the beginning of the year. In the final minutes of trading on Thursday, shares hit $19.72, a climb of 1 percent in the last 12 months.
