Silvestre, Aguelo lose in fights abroad

PROSPECT Orlie Silvestre and journeyman Adones Aguelo both failed in their campaign in Cambodia on Feb. 29, 2020.

Silvestre lost to Uzbek Olimjon Nazarov by unanimous decision in a 12-round bout for the World Boxing Organization (WBO) Oriental flyweight at the Felix Hotel Casino in Bavet.

The scores were 116-112, 117-111 and 115-113 all in favor of the 34-year-old Nazarov.

The 26-year-old Silvestre dropped to 15-6-2 with eight knockouts, while Nazarov improved to 22-5 with 12 knockouts.

On the other hand, the Cebu-based Aguelo was stopped by Uzbek Abdurasul Ismoilov in the second round.

The fight was stopped at the end of the second round after Aguelo suffered a cut on his right eyelid.

The cut was due to a legal punch and the fight was declared a stoppage win for Ismoilov.

Aguelo saw his two-fight streak end and fell to 33-21-2 with 23 knockouts, while Ismoilov is now 8-1 with five knockouts. (EKA)
