Philadelphia 76ers star Joel Embiid had himself one helluva 2021-22 season as he led the league in scoring, the first big man to do so since Shaquille O’Neal in 2000, and he became the first big man to average 30 points in a season since Moses Malone in 1982.
Embiid also pulled down 11.7 rebounds with 4.2 assists while shooting 49.9% from the floor and 37.1% from deep. He also got to the free-throw line 11.8 times per game and shot 81.4% from the line. There was really not much Embiid couldn’t do in the 2021-22 season.
On top of that, the big fella also led the league in total points in the clutch with 158 points. That is ahead of Chicago Bulls star DeMar DeRozan who had 157 and Denver Nuggets star, and league MVP, Nikola Jokic who had 145.

Embiid and the Sixers will look to build and chase a title in the 2022-23 season. The hope is that Embiid, James Harden, Tyrese Maxey, and Tobias Harris combined with the new additions will help push Philadelphia over the hump and get them to that coveted Larry O’Brien trophy in 2023.
