SMCCO continues hot streak in Duterte Cup

SMCCO kept their unbeaten streak going in the Duterte Cup basketball tournament as they took down RDT, 67-57, last Tuesday at the Capitol Parish Gym.
Left-handed forward JD Solitario led the way for SMCCO as he compiled 13 points and three rebounds to help the team boost their win-loss record to 3-0 in Bracket D.
In other Bracket D matches, CIA kept Losing Streak’s losing streak going with a 79-61 thumping. Jeff Bongo was CIA’s high-point man with 20 points.
Meanwhile in Bracket A, Wheeltek remains unbeaten as they thumped Sampaguita, 64-40. Junwilmar Isok tallied 16 points to help Wheeltek improve to 3-0.
The Knights and Unicorns, though, kept in step, as they too registered victories. The Knights blasted CODEV, 69-42, with Mike Alcuizar coming up with 20 points, while the Unicorns triumphed over the Walkers, 66-59. Jeff Buaron was key in the win by the Unicorns as he had 13 points, three rebounds, and two assists.
Over in Bracket B, TSO bumped their record to 3-0 with a 60-57 win over Eastern Star. Johnrey Girasol produced 15 points for TSO to help them stay atop their bracket, especially after Angel Mary Pawnshop got upset by RLCM, 64-62. Angel Mary now owns a 2-1 card while RLCM picked up their first win of the competition.
Pardo tied Angel Mary in the standings after they dumped HLT, 68-59, with Wilson Smith tallying 21 points.
And finally in Bracket C, Kevlo kept their perfect record intact with a 68-60 win over Ronald Oshoppe. Bernard Monteron had 17 points, four rebounds, and two assists to help Kevlo snatch the win.
The Rasenta Builders also won over OneStopJersey, 91-69, while CSIB thumped OCCCI, 61-48. (JNP)
