A PERSON with disability (PWD) was injured during an altercation with neighbors in Sitio Tanyong, Barangay Poblacion in the town of Clarin, Bohol on Saturday night, September 17, 2022.

John Christian Pimuat, 18, sustained a hack wound on the left ear.

Pimuat rents a room in a boarding house in the sitio with his two younger sisters.

The suspects were identified as Jerome Cabase, 28, and his live-in partner Maria Loida Avenido, 32.

Corporal Renilo Moreno of the Clarin Police Station told SunStar Cebu on Sunday morning, September 18, that Pimuat suffers from a mental problem.

He said Cabase got so enraged during an argument with the victim on Saturday night that Cabase left and returned with Avenido.

Cabase allegedly broke the window jalousies and the door of Pimuat’s room using a hammer and forced his way in. He allegedly tried to strike Pimuat with the hammer, hitting the latter in the ear.

Meanwhile, Avenido also allegedly punched the victim.

The incident rattled Pimuat’s younger sisters who witnessed the attack.

Pimuat was able to leave the room and seek the help of their landlord, 67-year-old Jovenal Vasquez, while Cabase and Avenido hastily left the boarding house.

On Monday, September 19, the two will be charged with several cases, including violation of Republic Act 7610, or the Child Abuse Law, since minors were present during the incident, and malicious mischief for breaking the window and the door of Pimuat’s room.
