New start, new journey: Drive to keep growing onward and upward

For some people, the new year means a new opportunity to shop for a new vehicle.

Hyundai Cebu Inc. remains driven to adhere to the needs and desires of its customers. It unveiled its newest, top-of-the-line passenger cars on Nov. 17, 2022, at the Hyundai Cebu South Showroom: The Hyundai Ioniq 5, Hyundai Stargazer and Hyundai Creta.

Edward Onglatco, president of the Hyundai Cebu Group, expressed Hyundai’s dedication towards creating a strong bond with its customers: “We will continue to operate with a lot of heart and emphasize customer satisfaction. The happiness of our customers will be the compass of our operations.”

The Hyundai Ioniq 5 is without a doubt a game changer in the automotive industry, already having won three awards since its international release in 2022: World Car of the Year, World Electric Vehicle of the Year and World Car Design of the Year.

This fully electric, five-seater vehicle is set to start arriving in the Philippines this January, and boasts a futuristic design with Hyundai’s pixel lighting theme, pop-out handles, and two 12-inch screens for the digital cockpit and the infotainment system, among other features. With 58kWh and 72.6kWh battery options, its charging time is around five to six hours on an AC home charger and eight to nine hours on a portable charger. It can charge from 0 to 100 percent in less than an hour using a DC fast charger, which Hyundai hopes to make available at its dealerships and several malls and gas stations.

The Stargazer is Hyundai’s attempt to push forward a new era in the local multipurpose vehicle segment by equipping it with advanced driver assistance technologies. It can comfortably seat seven people and was designed with the Filipino family in mind. Its driving performance was fine-tuned to the Philippines’ regional climate and road conditions, which is evident in its excellent engine output, precise handling, trustworthy brake system, and topnotch noise, vibration and harshness ratings.

Meanwhile, the Hyundai Creta is the perfect vehicle for anyone who is on the lookout for conquering new challenges. Its 1.5L Smartstream engine comes with an Intelligent Variable Transmission system that produces tough, responsive and efficient performance—all qualities Hyundai values in its vehicles.

This year, the South Korean multinational automotive manufacturer headquartered in Seoul, South Korea hopes to continue creating new, innovative models that will allow it to cater to a wider market segment and maintain its reputation as a major player in the global automotive industry.
