Are you ready to travel back into the world of the Upside Down? Brace yourselves because “Stranger Things” Season 4 is almost here. The series is divided into two volumes—Volume 1 is set to premiere on May 27, 2022 while Volume 2 will premiere on July 1 on Netflix.

After three long seasons of out-of-this-world adventures, the kids are back with a newer set of obstacles and monsters to battle out. Noah Schnapp, who plays Will Byers, shared at the “Stranger Things 4” APAC Press Conference held via Zoom on May 13 that this season will be much darker and atmospheric and fans should watch out for more thrilling and spine-chilling reveals.

This season will also tackle the transition of the kids into adolescence and how they have to grow up alongside each other. Gaten Matarazzo, who plays

Dustin Henderson, revealed how their characters dealt with ordinary things like fitting in in the complex social climate of high school and how that already is hard enough to deal with.

Atop these very ordinary problems, they had to deal with the fact that something is amiss in their little town in Indiana and people are starting to notice. Having to face these ominous threats with some of their friends missing is also another weight upon the kids’ shoulders.

“We’re starting high school without a good chunk of our friend group and obviously we miss them a lot. It is a very transitional time for us,” Gaten said.

When asked, what it was like working alongside his cast mates for years and witnessing each other grow up, Charlie Heaton, who plays Jonathan Byers, said it was transformative for him.

“Seeing each other grow is amazing,” said the actor. “Working with your peers and going through the same crazy trajectory together, wherein you undergo the same things and having someone understand that really helps.”

The fourth season will be out officially on May 27 with a jam-packed nine-episode series. Volume 1 will have five episodes while Volume 2 will have four episodes.
