(UPDATED) Collegiate student-athletes in Cebu can now resume training in areas that are under modified general community quarantine (MGCQ) and general community quarantine status.
This was announced by Presidential Spokesman Harry Roque during his press briefing on Monday.
However, Roque added that the athletes must still wait for the guidelines that will be issued by the Commission on Higher Education (CHED).
According to CHED chairman Popoy de Vera, a technical working group composed of representatives from the Games and Amusement Board, the Philippine Sports Commission, the Department of Health and various representatives of the collegiate leagues will be formed to create the said guidelines for the resumption of training for collegiate athletes.
Until then, student-athletes will have to wait a little while longer and cannot train until the guidelines are approved.
De Vera said that he estimates the technical working group to finish the guidelines in three weeks. (JNP)
