EX-OLYMPIAN Charly Suarez looks to continue his impressive run in the pro ranks as he takes on dangerous Lorence Rosas in an eight-rounder in the main event of VSP Boxing’s “Quest for Glory” show on Saturday, Sept. 4, 2021, at the Urdaneta Cultural Sports Complex in Urdaneta City.

Suarez has already racked up seven wins since turning pro in 2019 after a successful amateur career. He won all three of his fights in 2021 and is coming off a lopsided unanimous decision over veteran Eduardo Mancito.

Suarez came into the pro ranks with an impressive amateur career. He fought in the Olympics in 2016. He’s also a three-time gold medalist in the Southeast Asian Games and a silver medalist in the Asian Games. He also won silver medals in the Kazakhstan President Cup, Indonesia President Cup and Tammer Tournament.

Meanwhile, Rosas is coming off a two-year layoff and lost his last four contests. He lost to Omrri Bolivar, Ryo Takenaka, Shuma Nakazato and Mark Anthony Geraldo.

One of Rosas’ best performances was back in 2016 against world-rated super bantamweight Mike Plania in Makati City. He fought gallantly against Plania and lost by majority decision.

Suarez is 7-0 with five knockouts, while Rosas is 9-5-2 with three knockouts.
