A construction worker who allegedly killed two nursing graduates and a student in Caloocan City has surrendered to the authorities, the local media reported yesterday.
Anselmo Singkol, 37, presented himself to Samar cops after being convinced to surrender by an uncle, a retired policeman. Before his appearance, his brothers Alden and Adonis Singkol were arrested by the police in connection with the same crime.
The Singkol brothers were allegedly behind the stabbing of Arjay Beloncio, a student, and nursing graduates Glydel Belonio and Mona Ismael. Beloncio was responsible for overseeing the construction of a house in Caloocan City that was owned by his sibling. He allegedly discovered that the Singkol brothers were overpricing the materials needed to build the structure.
Beloncio fired the construction workers and the authorities believe that the Singkol brothers killed the victims in retaliation. Belonio, who was Beloncio’s cousin, and Ismael were living in the same house to prepare for their licensure examination.
Anselmo allegedly admitted that he planned the three friends’ killing, but denied that he was involved in their stabbing,
Police Colonel Dario Menor, chief of Caloocan City police, told news program Unang Balita in English and Filipino, “He (Anselmo) said that at 11am they got their salaries. They left the worksite to go to Bagong Silang where he lived with his brothers. They had a drink then he went back to the construction site with this man named Ron Ron.”
Anselmo alleged that it was Ron Ron who killed the three friends. The suspect has refused to speak to the media.
