She was one of the UK's original social media stars, publishing her first beauty tutorial on YouTube almost 12 years ago.

But Tanya Burr has now vowed to keep more of her personal life offline, after fearing she "overshared" early on her career.

The influencer, 32, is choosing to not reveal the identity of her new boyfriend, after her high-profile marriage with fellow YouTuber Jim Chapman.

Speaking to the Sunday Telegraph's Stella magazine, she said: "I overshared at the beginning [of my online career] without realising the effect it would have, so I really reined it in.

"I’ve been quite private for a few years now and my audience are used to it, so they don’t expect anything any more."

For this reason, while Burr – who has come off YouTube to pursue a career in acting – acknowledges that she has a new boyfriend, she won't reveal more than that.

She said that she "had the best time being single and dating" but is now "very loved up".

In March 2019, she and Chapman announced they would be divorcing after four years of marriage.

Burr – who has more than 3 million followers – posted at the time on Instagram, writing: "Just wanted to let you all know that a few weeks ago Jim and I made the painful decision to no longer be together.

"We have a huge amount of love and respect for each other and will continue to remain friends forever. Thank you in advance for respecting our privacy at this difficult time."

In November of that year, speaking again to the Telegraph about speculation around the reason behind their split, she said: "It’s what people do. I’m not angry with anyone. People are just being people. It’s hard and horrible. I’ll never Google myself again."

She added: "All that matters is what Jim and I think. It’s boring – he’s still my best friend. We’ve been best friends for 12 years, [but] people will want some drama from it. We’re always going to be in each other’s lives, hopefully."

Her ex-husband is now dating model Sarah Tarleton, and the pair are currently expecting a baby together.
