Teen, 18, injured after being stabbed by ‘mentally deranged man’ in Medellin

A GRADE 11 student who was back-riding on a motorcycle was stabbed by a man believed to have a mental disorder at 9:10 p.m. on Friday, November 11, 2022, in Purok Acacia, Barangay Don Virgilio Gonzalez, Medellin town, northern Cebu.

A knife was still stuck in the back of 18-year-old Kenneth Jumao-as, who studies at the Cebu Roosevelt Memorial College in Bogo City, when he was brought to Bogo-Medellin Medical Center for treatment.

Jumao-as, who hails from Proper Canhabagat, Medellin, bore two stab wounds in the back.

The suspect, Kenth Robert S. Miral, is still at large as of this writing.

SSgt. Jose Inso of Medellin Police Station told SunStar Cebu that Jumao-as, his relative Ivan Rey Dimaymay, and a 16-year-old friend were on their way home on a motorcycle when Miral, who was standing on the roadside, suddenly chased them and attacked the victim.

Miral reportedly continued chasing them until they got away from him. Dimaymay, who drove the motorcycle, immediately brought Jumao-as to the hospital after the incident. (BBT / TPT)
