Tell it to SunStar: Goodbye, Kobe

THE breaking news that shocked the entire sports world was the tragic accident of a helicopter crash that carried nine people including Kobe Bryant and his 13-year-old daughter. The incident took place in a southern California hillside which was believed due to foggy conditions. Right after the accident was known, people gathered at the Staples Sport Center at Los Angeles to pour condolences and expressed their grief. Fans, teammates NBA officials, public officials and all.

According to the mayor of the city “Kobe will live forever in the hearts of Los Angeles.” Probably because in his entire 20-year career, he played only with the LA Lakers and never transferred to any other team.

Kobe Bryant carried the Lakers to five NBA championships. He was a two-time NBA MVP and a two-time Olympic gold medalist. Head also played seventeen times in an all-start game and together with the likes of Magic Johnson, Larry Bird, Michael Jordan among others, is one of the most well-known and prominent faces in the entire basketball world.

There is also one good thing I learned after his death. He was a Christian and a devout Catholic. A very friendly and magnanimous person.

Goodbye, Kobe, and may God embraces you and in His keeping. (By Jose Hortelano, Balamban, Cebu)
