I DON’T understand all this howling from some people about the cauldron at the SEA Games. It was designed by a national artist and the government bought the idea and implemented it for national pride. It is art in its truest form, and not just because it is designed by a national artist, but because it represents our boldness and pride as Filipinos.
Meantime, these so-called experts did not even move or say anything when a bunch of activists vandalized the streets of Manila and called it art. I mean, why do these people avert their eyes from all that nonsense?
Why criticize a valid art such as the cauldron? Why question its value when it’s priceless? It will stand in the years to come. (By Rey Buenconsejo, Talisay City)
