THE Cebu City Government should address the problem of stray dogs.
It may be least of its problems considering it continues to prevent a coronavirus pandemic from spreading, but something should be done before things get out of hand.
These dogs must have been emboldened to take to the streets at night when the city was first placed on community quarantine at the end of March and a curfew was imposed.
Cebu City after dark continues to be a virtual ghost town save for some essential workers who missed their ride and are walking home.
Some of them become easy pickings for these opportunists.
I don’t have anything against dogs. In fact, I think they’re very loyal and protective of their loved ones. But these traits also make them dangerous.
They are territorial animals. An unsuspecting pedestrian may stumble into their territory and get the fright of his life. Or worse.
