I don’t see what the fuss is all about. If a family that owns a motorcycle wants to carry a family member as passenger, then that is their prerogative and right.
The practice was only banned recently to ensure social distancing while the country is waging a campaign to stop the coronavirus disease 2019 (Covid-19) from spreading.
It makes sense if the passenger is a stranger, but not when the passenger is a family member. In most likelihood, the driver and the passenger live in the same house.
If they’re husband and wife, then they probably share the same bed.
Close interaction cannot be avoided. The government insists on banning the practice, but it doesn’t prohibit car owners from carrying passengers.
If it wants to be fair, it should prohibit all modes of transportation, whether private or public. But even then, it cannot ensure that there will be no Covid-19 transmission. Well, at least the ban is temporary.
