TerraFirma to pick first in PBA Draft for third year in a row

For the third year in a row, the TerraFirma Dyip will pick first in the upcoming Philippine Basketball Association (PBA) Draft after finishing dead last in the elimination round of the ongoing Philippine Cup.

TerraFirma compiled a hideous 1-10 (win-loss) record in the Philippine Cup, in spite of the great play of resident star CJ Perez. This marks the first time that a franchise will be picking first for three straight years. After selecting Perez first in 2018, the Dyip chose Isaac Go in the special draft and then, chose Roosevelt Adams in the regular draft last year.

It would have been four straight years had the franchise, which was known as Kia in 2017, not traded the first pick to San Miguel. That pick turned out to be Christian Standhardinger, who has since been traded to NorthPort.

Set to pick second after TerraFirma is NorthPort. The third and fourth picks belong to the NLEX Road Warriors.

Only the top four teams’ order in the draft is known. The rest of the placings will be established at season’s end. (JNP)
