TGP receives AFFI awards for franchising excellence

For the second consecutive year, the country’s largest drugstore chain, The Generics Pharmacy® (TGP), received major awards for franchising excellence from the Association of Filipino Franchisers, Inc. (AFFI) in the recent Filipino Franchise Show.

AFFI, the country’s prime trade organization committed to promoting world-class Filipino entrepreneurs through responsible franchising, honored TGP with the President’s Award for being an exemplary member of the association.

TGP was also recognized as one of BPI Family Ka-Negosyo’s Top 10 Franchise Brands and was awarded a Plaque of Appreciation from AFFI for giving its full support to the association.

TGP is a proudly Filipino-owned company and has been recognized by prestigious franchising and marketing institutions like the Philippine Franchise Association and the Philippine Retailers Association for continuously demonstrating entrepreneurial leadership among its network of franchisees.

Aside from offering safe and effective generics that are 80 percent lower than their branded counterparts to provide Filipinos with more affordable healthcare, TGP is giving opportunities to potential entrepreneurs to put up a sustainable business with its P150,000 franchise fee.

“With our more than 1,700 franchised outlets all over the country, we’re not only able to help the Filipino community but encourage budding entrepreneurs to start investing as well,” explained TGP President and CEO Benjamin Liuson. “That’s what our country needs now – for more Filipinos to explore new concepts and expand their business portfolios.”

This was demonstrated when one of TGP’s loyal and multi-unit franchisees, Jon Paul Bantique, was also recognized by AFFI in the Filipino Franchise Show. He was hailed as the only AFFI CSR Awardee for this year.

Over the years, TGP has proven to be a viable business venture for Filipino entrepreneurs. As it looks to expand to more untapped areas in the country where quality healthcare is needed the most, TGP is committed to helping improve the public’s perception on the safety and efficacy of generics.

TGP recently introduced its first private label generic medicine, the TGP Paracetamol, which is proven to be as safe and effective as the leading and innovator paracetamol brands. This is in addition to the company’s wide range of generic medicines along with maintenance medicines for the heart, diabetes and cholesterol lowering.
