Which Boston Celtics team will we see in Game 3 of the NBA Finals?
In Game 1, the Celtics shocked the Golden State Warriors with a triumphant fourth quarter that turned a 12-point deficit into a 120-108 victory. Things were different in Game 2, however. The Warriors led by just two at halftime but then outscored Boston 35-14 in the third quarter and ran away to a blowout 107-88 win.
Those explosive third quarters have been a common occurrence for the Warriors this postseason. In Game 1, the Warriors outscored the Celtics 38-24 before the game completely flipped in Boston’s favor in the fourth. In Game 2, the Warriors held on and then some, winning comfortably.
In the loss, the Celtics got just six points combined from starters Marcus Smart, Al Horford and Robert Williams. In Game 1, that trio went for 52, including 26 from Horford. With Game 3 back in Boston, will the Celtics’ role players be able to bounce back, thwart that Golden State third-quarter barrage and take a series edge?
The oddsmakers at BetMGM have the Celtics as 3.5-point favorites with the total listed at 212.5.
Golden State’s core of Steph Curry, Klay Thompson and Draymond Green have the Finals experience. Will that help combat Boston’s home court advantage? The Celtics are 13-7 against the spread during the playoffs, but are just 4-5 ATS at home.
The Warriors are 10-8 ATS this postseason, but have just a 2-5 ATS record as a road team and a 1-1 record as an underdog.
Here’s a look at the rest of the betting slate for Wednesday.

A day off from the NHL playoffs
The Colorado Avalanche already advanced to the Stanley Cup Finals via a dramatic sweep of the Edmonton Oilers in the Western Conference Finals.
In the Eastern Conference, though, the New York Rangers and Tampa Bay Lightning are headed back to New York City with their series tied 2-2. The Rangers were on the verge of going up 3-0 in the series, but blew a 2-0 second-period lead in a 3-2 Game 2 loss. The Lightning then tied the series up on Tuesday night with a 4-1 victory.
Ahead of Game 5 on Thursday, the Lightning are now -155 favorites to win the series at BetMGM, but the Avalanche are significant Stanley Cup favorites at -225. The Lightning (+333) have won the last two Stanley Cups. The Rangers are now listed at +600.
