THOUSANDS of residents in Cebu City barangays have already secured a student permit through the Land Transportation Office in Central Visayas’ (LTO 7) Theoretical Driving Course (TDC) headed by Regional Director Victor Caindec.

Among the barangays that benefited from the 15-hour TDC are Sudlon 1, Apas, Quiot and Tisa.

Current and former officials of the barangays expressed gratitude to the Land Transportation Office for helping aspiring drivers in their locality secure a student permit.

Residents attended a 15-hour TDC offered for free by LTO through its Malasakit on Wheels e-Patrol mobile service before they applied for student permit.

Barangay Captain Dante Tabucal of Sudlon 1 in upland Cebu City thanked Caindec for bringing the TDC near his constituents.

Tabucal's sentiment was also echoed by former Apas barangay captain and Department of Social Welfare and Development (DSWD) Assistant Secretary Ramil Ayuman, who is now Mayor Michael Rama's secretary on special projects, former Quiot barangay captain and current Cebu City South District Councilor Francis Esparis and Tisa barangay captain Ringo Pacaña.

The TDC is also being offered by driving schools for aspiring drivers with a fee ranging from P1,500 to P2,500.

It has benefited more than 18,000 individuals, including those from Bohol. (PAC, TPT)
