MANILA, Philippines — Three suspects in the death of hazing victim Horacio Castillo III have been identified.
The Manila Police District (MPD) considers John Paul Solano as the primary suspect.
Solano was the one who allegedly saw the dead body of Castillo and brought it to hospital.
A CCTV footage showed Solano accompanying Castillo before the victim died.
This is contrary to the initial statement of Solano that he does not personally know Horacio and that he just found him on a sidewalk.
“Kasi ang video is material evidence na magpapatunay na kilala talaga si John Paul Solano si Horacio Castillo which in fact initially dineny ni John Paul Solano,” MPD Chief PIO Police Supt. Erwin Margarejo said.
Aside from Solano, the MPD also considers as suspects father and son Antonio and Ralph Trangia.
Antonio is the owner of the vehicle used by Solano to bring the body of Castillo to the Chinese General Hospital.
His son, Ralph, the police said, is an official of the Aegis Juris Fraternity.
The MPD is now conducting a manhunt operation to capture the suspects.
Meanwhile, 16 individuals are now being considered as persons of interest in connection with Castillo’s death.
“We are very cautious in naming the persons involved in the case because we don’t want bungle the ongoing investigation,” Margarejo said.
Justice Secretary Vitalliano Aguirre II has placed the 16 members of the Aegis Juris Fraternity under the look out bulletin of the Bureau of Immigration (BI).
The BI has also ordered to coordinate with the National Bureau of Investigation in gathering further details on the 16 persons of interest. – Leslie Longboen | UNTV News and Rescue
