TNT’s Cebuano ace Roger Pogoy put forth another masterful performance against Alaska as he scored 34 points to push the Tropang Giga past the Aces, 104-83, in the quarterfinals of the PBA Philippine Cup on Saturday at the Angeles University Foundation Sports Arena in Pampanga.
The win sealed TNT’s spot in the semifinals where they would take on the winner of the quarterfinal showdown between Phoenix Super LPG and Magnolia.
Pogoy’s explosion on offense was similar to his 45-point masterpiece against Alaska at the start of the PBA “bubble.” The native of Talisay City padded his performance with eight rebounds, four assists and three steals.
TNT took full control of the game in the third where they outscored Alaska, 33-15, en route to the dominant win.
The game though, was marred by the hard fall that Alaska guard Abel Galliguez suffered during the early goings of the fourth quarter. Galliguez had to be rushed to the hospital after he hit his head on the floor while challenging the layup attempt of TNT wingman Bobby Ray Parks.
Parks helped Pogoy out with 20 points. (JNP)
