MANILA, Philippines – Cesar Montano resigned Monday, May 21, as the Chief Operating Officer of the Tourism Promotions Board (TPB) following the suspension of the agency’s “Buhay Carinderia” project.

In his resignation submitted to Malacañang through Special Assistant to the President Bong Go, Montano did not specify his reason for resigning. He thanked President Rodrigo Duterte for the trust in appointing him to the position.

In a text message to UNTV on Monday night, Tourism Secretary Bernadette Romulo-Puyat said she trusts that COA will soon shed light on the controversy.

“I would like to consider the matter closed-from my active involvement – but I trust that COA will get to the bottom of this episode,” Puyat concluded. – UNTV News & Rescue
