POLICE investigators are looking at land dispute as the possible motive in the killing of a tricycle driver in Compostela town in northern Cebu.

Eduardo Castro Oyao, 56, married, was shot dead by two motorcycle-riding men in front of his house in Purok Dalubis, Sitio Aggies, Barangay Poblacion, Compostela on Tuesday morning, August 2.

Nobody in the area, however, was able to identify the assailants, who were both wearing full-faced helmets, as well as their motorcycle.

The gunmen reportedly fled further north after the incident.

Lieutenant Andrew Rellanos, chief of Compostela Police Station, said in an interview with SunStar Cebu that they received information that the victim had pending land dispute case in court.

The victim had no known enemy in their place, according to Rellanos.

Oyao succumbed to gunshot wounds in the head and body.

Police recovered from the scene five spent shells of .45 pistol. (GPL, TPT)
