Trough of Typhoon Paeng affects parts of Visayas, Mindanao

MANILA, Philippines — Cloudy skies with scattered rain showers and thunderstorms will be experienced over Western Visayas, Zamboanga Peninsula, ARMM and Soccsksargen. This is due to the trough of Typhoon Paeng.

Meanwhile, Metro Manila and the rest of the country may expect cloudy skies with isolated rain showers due to localized thunderstorms.

At 3:00 a.m. on Tuesday (September 25), PAGASA has observed the eye of Typhoon Paeng at 740 kilometers east of Basco, Batanes.

It packs maximum sustained winds of 200 kilometers per hour (kph) near the center of and gustiness of up to 240 kilometers per hour (kph).
It is currently moving west-northwestward at a speed of 10 kilometers per hour (kph).

Gale warning has been raised in the northern and eastern sections of Luzon and eastern section of Visayas and Mindanao. Fishermen are advised not to  venture out into the sea due  to the very rough condition of coastal waters. — UNTV News & Rescue
