Typhoon #RubyPH slightly weakens but still threatens several areas

Typhoon “Ruby” (International name: Hagupit) has slightly weakened but continues to threaten the Samar provinces as it maintained its course.

In its 11 am update Saturday, the Philippine Atmospheric, Geophysical and Astronomical Services (Pagasa) says “Ruby” packs maximum sustained winds of 185 kilometers per hour near the center and gustiness of up to 220 kilometers per hour.

The typhoon is expected to make landfall Sunday, its location estimated to be at 50 kilometers West of Catarman, Northern Samar or at 60 kilometers East of Masbate City, Masbate

Public storm warning signals are up in the following areas:

(Winds of 100 - 185 kph is expected in at least 18 hours)
Catanduanes, Albay, Sorsogon, Masbate, Ticao Island, Northern Samar, Eastern Samar, Samar, Biliran

Signal # 2:
(Winds of 61-100 kph is expected in at least 24 hours)
Camarines Sur,  Burias Island, Romblon
Capiz, Northern Cebu, Cebu City, Bantayan Island, Camotes Island, Leyte, Southern Leyte, Dinagat Province
