Typhoon Tisoy to bring heavy rains over Metro Manila, parts of Luzon, Visayas

MANILA, Philippines – State weather agency PAGASA forecasts frequent to continuous heavy rains over Metro Manila between morning to late afternoon on Tuesday (December 3) due to the effects of Typhoon Tisoy.

Heavy rains will also be experienced in areas in the Bicol Region, Romblon, Marinduque, Mindoro Provinces, CALABARZON, Bataan, Pampanga and Bulacan.

Meanwhile, occasional to frequent heavy rains over the rest of Central Luzon.

Intermittent heavy rains will prevail over Samar Provinces, Biliran, Aklan, Antique, Capiz, Iloilo, Guimaras, and the northern portions of Negros Provinces and Cebu.

As Typhoon Tisoy moves towards making its third landfall before noon today, frequent to continuous heavy (with isolated intense) rains will affect Mindoro Provinces, Metro Manila, Central Luzon, Rizal, and Northern Quezon including Polillo Islands between late afternoon today and tomorrow morning.

Likewise, occasional heavy rains over Cagayan Valley, Cordillera Administrative Region, Marinduque, Romblon and the rest of CALABARZON. Intermittent heavy rains over Bicol Region and Calamian Islands.

Residents in the said areas are advised to take appropriate actions especially those living in flash flood and landslide-prone areas and monitor updates through PAGASA’s official website.

Sea travel remains dangerous over the seaboards of areas under TCWS, the seaboards of Northern Luzon, the western seaboard of Palawan, and the northern and eastern seaboards of Mindanao due to rough sea conditions especially for small sea vessels.

Gusty conditions may also be experienced in areas in Northern Luzon that are not under any tropical cyclone wind signal (TCWS) especially in the coastal and mountainous zones) due to the Northeast Monsoon.
