UAAP Finals MVP Thirdy Ravena to play in Japan’s B.League

Former Ateneo Blue Eagles superstar Thirdy Ravena is taking his prodigious basketball talents to Japan’s B.League after he signed with three-time league champions San-en NeoPhoenix.

The B.League is Japan’s foremost basketball league and Ravena is its very first signee under the league’s Asian Player Quota, which is an initiative geared to “enhance the capabilities of their local players by matching them with other Asian players in daily games.”

The B.League made the announcement on Wednesday morning, June 24, 2020.

Ravena will bring with him a wealth of experience and an impressive résumé that includes being the UAAP’s first and only three-time winner of the Finals MVP award.

Ravena’s arrival is a boon for a San-en squad that finished last in the Central District division of the B.League last season, with just five wins against a whopping 36 losses. (JNP)
