DEFENDING champion United City Football Club (UCFC) has bared its upcoming scheduled for the Philippines Football League (PFL) 2020 season.
UCFC posted on its official Facebook page that it will face newcomer Maharlika Manila FC on Oct. 25, 2020 in their season opener in the PFL bubble at the Philippine Football Federation National Football Center in Carmona.
UCFC has a stacked roster led by team captain Stephan Schrock, Spanish striker Bienvenido Marañon, Japanese Takashi Odawara, Hikaru Minegishi, Senegalese forward Robert Mendy and the Ott brothers—Mike and Manny.
Maharlika Manila FC is a team composed of mix veteran former Azkal players and young up-and-comers. The team is led by Anton del Rosario, Misagh Bahadoran, Simon Greatwich, David Basa, Jerry Barbaso, Yannick Tuason, Brazilian model and actor Daniel Matsunaga, Spanish defender Joaquin Cañas and Cameroonian defender Serge Kaole.
UCFC’s next assignment is Mendiola FC on Oct. 28, Azkals Development Team on Oct. 31, Stallion Laguna FC on Nov. 4 and Kaya FC-Iloilo on Nov. 8.
UCFC, then called Ceres Negros FC, won last year’s PFL after finishing with 68 points from 22 wins and a draw, earning the club a spot in the Asian Football Confederation League preliminary round. (EKA)
