UCFC crushes Maharlika FC

UNITED City FC (UCFC) continued its dominance in the 2020 Philippines Football League (PFL) season after another dominant win.

After a 6-0 beating of Mendiola FC 1991, UCFC totally outclassed Maharlika Manila FC, 10-0, last Wednesday night, Nov. 3, 2020, at the Philippine Football Federation (PFF) National Training Center in Carmona, Cavite.

OJ Porteria and Robert Lopez Mendy led UCFC’s offensive onslaught with a hattrick each. Porteria hit the back of the net in the 39th, 71st and 75th minutes, while Mendy scored in the 49th, 57th and 63rd minutes.

Mike Ott also joined in the action with a brace, scoring in the 16th and 73rd minutes. Bienvenido Marañon scored in the 19th, while Stephan Shrock added a goal in the 33rd minute.

Meanwhile, Kaya FC-Iloilo settled to a 1-1 draw with Stallion Laguna FC Jovin Bedic giving Kaya FC-Iloilo the early lead with a goal in the 10th minute. Jhan Melliza scored the equalizer in the 80th minute.

Bedic had a chance to score the game-winning goal but he missed a header from a cross by OJ Clarino.

UCFC remained at the top with nine points, followed by Kaya FC-Iloilo. Azkals Development Team (ADT) is third with three points, followed by Maharlika Manila FC at fourth with three points but behind on goal difference. Stallion Laguna FC is fifth with a point, while Mendiola FC 1991 is in last place with still no points.

On Nov. 6, Kaya FC-Iloilo faces Mendiola FC 1991 at 9 a.m., followed by Maharlika Manila FC against Azkals Development Team at 4:30 p.m. and UCFC vs. Stallion Laguna FC in the main match at 8 p.m.
