The United Nations said on World Refugee Day, June 20, that there were currently 30 million children in the world displaced by conflict, more than at any other time since the Second World War.
The global number of refugee and migrant children moving alone had reached 300,000, the UN said, nearly five times the 2010 figure.
Lone children are at heightened risk of trafficking, exploitation, violence and abuse, UNICEF said.
