MANILA, Philippines — Presidential Communications Assistant Secretary Mocha Uson is ready to face the cases filed against her by Senator Antonio Trillanes IV.
Uson is now in New York as part of the Philippine delegates in the United Nations General Assembly.
Despite being overseas, she received the report regarding the case filed against her.
“Ako po ay malinis ang konsensya at hindi ko uurungan kung ano yung isasampa niya, ( My conscience is clear and I will not back down from the charges he files against me),” said Uson.
“A person who has nothing to hide, like the president, has nothing to be afraid of. So, go for it,” she added.
Trillanes filed a case against Uson last Friday with three counts of violation of the Cybercrime Prevention Act for libel; violation of the code of conduct and ethical standards for public officials and employees; and falsification and use of false documents and administrative case of grave misconduct.
The cyber libel is for a post shared by Uson on her social media account regarding the alleged offshore accounts of Trillanes in Singapore.
Meanwhile, Uson also denied the accusations that the Philippine delegates at the United Nations General Assembly are only having fun in New York.
Uson also denied reports that she is planning to run for senator in the next election.
“Hindi. Tayo po nandito lang po para sumuporta ng 110% kay President Duterte. Wala na pong ibang ambisyon. Fake news yun. ( No. I’m only here to support President [Rodrigo] Duterte 110%. I have no further ambitions. That was fake news) she clarified. — UNTV News & Rescue
