“It wasn’t a walk in the park,” waxed Fleire Castro of her 10-year-old company, Third Team Media, a digital marketing firm she founded. Nostalgically, she goes back 14 years ago when, as a young couple, she and husband Marco left Iligan City to seek greener pastures.
With only P20,000 in the bank, and her husband’s P20 in his pocket, they landed in Cebu, if just to survive! Fleire, 21 and pregnant, found a corporate job in Lapu-Lapu City with their families knowing nothing but that they were looking for work. They secretly married in Cebu, had a son, and stayed on. When it rains, it pours! Fleire had her share of life’s challenges, being fired from work during those hard times. But when God closes a door, He opens a window! This was the spark of her burst into the entrepreneurial world.
The couple’s second “baby” was born two years after her corporate journey, and was called Third Team Media. Building the homegrown company from scratch, Fleire underwent the normal “birthing” pains, never believing that her simple venture, like digital marketing, would flourish.
At that time, digital marketing was something entirely foreign to the locals. Fleire merely wanted to assist Cebuano micro, small and medium enterprises to connect to global clients via digital marketing. Educating the business community on this new platform of technology, Fleire had to conduct seminars and conferences to jumpstart the needs for her services to business owners on the value and convenience of digital marketing and social media.
After 10 years, and 70 business organizations to date, Fleire looks back emotionally and defines the values that helped her succeed:
The discipline of delayed gratification, wherein she labored hard for 10 years but was only rewarded in the last two.
Value no. 2: Learning impeccable time management. Rearing a first time business as first time parents is no walk in the park!
On her company’s 10th anniversary, what’s new? Third Team Media is offering two promos: For first-time clients: A P10,000 discount on its setup fee for any of the service packages, limited to the first 10 businesses or a total of P100,000. Existing clients get a bundled offer of content, ads and a chatbot for a Facebook Management package of only P35,000 instead of P45,000.
Future plans include partnerships, which are essential in expansion, using tools, technology and the depth of its experience in the industry.
To this esteemed, task-oriented, successful self-made entrepreneur, who counts her husband as her most precious partner, great appreciation also goes to clients, mentors, teammates, community members and peers, who have made this challenging journey with her.
Happy 10th anniversary, and still counting, Fleire!
