Valenzuela City to implement anti-hoarding, anti-panic buying ordinance

The local government of Valenzuela City will implement Ordinance No. 669 series of 2020 or the Anti-Hoarding and Anti-Panic Buying ordinance.

After its passage at the Valenzuela City Council, consumers in the said city can only purchase a limited number of certain products to avoid hoarding amid the announcement of a community quarantine in Metro Manila.

In a Faceook post of the Valenzuela City Government, among the products included in the ordinance are canned sardines, bread, eggs, and rice.

The local government also said registered retailers including store, hotel and restaurant owners will have to present their copy of original Mayor’s Permit/Business Permit every time they purchase any of the listed goods.

The Valenzuela governent warned that any business owner or establishment in Valenzuela City that will be caught not following the ordinance will have their business permits revoked.—AAC
