Vegetable Gardening

CEBU CITY - Alarmed by the decreasing consumption of vegetables, the Region 7 office of the National Nutrition Council (NNC) in a recent forum here bared different technologies for vegetable gardening.

NNC 7 Program Head Parolita Mission said among the technologies available include urban gardening, which she said is very suitable for those living in cities as it will only require the use of containers such as drums, gallons and cans given the limited area.

She added that Food Always In The Home (FAITH) gardening is also a good option as it will empower a family of four to six persons to produce their own organic backyard garden in a 150-square-meter lot where 50 to 80 percent of their daily nutritional needs is expected to be addressed.
