THE Land Transportation Office (LTO) Central Visayas has noticed that the number of vehicle registrants in Bohol has lessened this year compared to last year, arising doubts that many vehicle owners in the province have not yet registered their units.

Regional Director Victor Caindec of LTO Central Visayas revealed that only 41,737 motorcycles and vehicles have been registered from January to April this year compared to 44,803 in the same period last year.

Before the Covid-19 pandemic in 2018, the number of vehicles registered in Bohol had reached 124,744, but this has decreased to 118,826 in 2021.

For the driver's license renewal and new application, LTO Bohol processed 359,786 applications in 2019, compared to 171,688 in 2021.

"Ako ni i-reword para sa mga slow. Base sa trend sa datos, 5 kada 10 nga naay license kompara sa previous years wala na ga-renew. Maayo na lang kay sa 2022, nisaka na'g gamay ang compliance," matud ni Caindec.

(I'll reword this for the slow. Based on the trend of the data, 5 out of 10 who have a license compared to previous years have not renewed. It's better that in 2022, compliance had improved a little).

Meanwhile, more than 3,000 erring drivers were apprehended by the LTO 7 and 35,563 temporary operator's permits (TOP) were issued since last year in entire Cebu. (With TPT)
