Venezuelan Miss U wants more of the Philippines

Gabriela Isler, Miss Universe Venezuela 2013, competes in her evening gown during the Preliminary Competition at Crocus City Hall on November 5, 2013. Tune in to MISS UNIVERSE® 2013 from Crocus City Hall in Moscow, Russia on November 9, 2013 at 9:00 PM ET on NBC to see who will win the crown.

Miss Universe 2013 Maria Gabriela Isler said yesterday that she hopes to visit the Philippines again and spend time exploring the islands. “I don’t even have to think twice – yes!” Isler replied when asked if she is likely to return. “I could be here longer, my trip is too short but I am so blessed to be able to be here even just for few days. I would love to see more of the islands. I just got back from a trip to Coron (Palawan) and the water is crystal clear. It was unbelievably beautiful,” she told the Manila Bulletin. Isler went to Coron last Saturday as part of rehabilitation efforts for victims of super-typhoon “Yolanda” (international name: “Haiyan”). The beauty queen from Venezuela said that she has been traveling a lot since she was crowned Miss Universe in Russia last November. “My life has changed very much – I moved immediately to New York City. I live with Miss USA and I am constantly on the go traveling! I get to experience cultures and people. I am so blessed,” she said. Isler also described the Filipinos as “amazing.” “Everyone (in the Philippines) is so kind and passionate about their country. I have enjoyed some great traditional cuisine, fashion and music. Above all, though, the incredible people are what make the (Filipino) culture stand out.” Isler said family and values are two of the most important things in her life. “I always stay true to myself. My family and values are most important to me. No matter where life takes me, those will always come first,” she added. She paid tribute to Filipino women whom she described as “beautiful inside and out.” “Honestly, there are many beautiful women who stand out. Each has a chance to win. Filipino women are beautiful inside and out as long as they are confident. I think they all have a shot at the title,” said the 26-year-old Miss Universe. She said the key to winning the beauty pageant is confidence. “Enjoy the moment. It’s a once-in-a-lifetime experience. If you enjoy and relax, your confidence will show.” Isler and her entourage are expected to leave the country today. Last night, she served as one of the judges in the 2014 Bb. Pilipinas beauty pageant.
