Blood Red Sydney Sunset Captured as City Shrouded in Smoke

Firefighters in New South Wales continued to battle multiple bush fires on December 7, though reports say a major blaze scorching about 710,000 acres near Sydney could not be put out.

The Gospers Mountain fire in the Wollemi National Park was being controlled, authorities said, but, according to reports, could burn for weeks.

Firefighters reported 95 fires in the state on that date, with about half yet to be contained.
