The Bobcat Fire came dangerously close to the Mount Wilson Observatory in LA County on September 15, as the blaze reached over 40,000 acres.
The fire came within 500ft of the observatory, Angeles National Forest officials said.
As of September 16, the fire was 3 percent contained and the cause was under investigation.
