Dramatic Footage Shows Firefighters Surrounded by Flames as Tamarack Fire Spreads

The chief of the UC Davis Fire Department in California released dramatic footage on July 22 showing firefighters surrounded by flames as they battled the Tamarack Fire the previous night.

The fire, which was sparked by a lightning strike in the Mokelumne Wilderness in Alpine County on July 4, had reached over 50,000 acres and spread into Nevada on July 22, according to official information.
