The final Thomas Cook flight arrived in Manchester on Monday, September 23, after the company ceased trading as last-ditch talks to avert insolvency failed.
The flight, from Orlando, landed at 8.41am local time, according to FlightAware – a striking coincidence, with the company having begun operations in 1841.
“We are sorry to announce that Thomas Cook has ceased trading with immediate effect,” tweeted the official Thomas Cook account early on Monday morning.
The tour operator’s collapse has put 22,000 jobs at risk across the world, according to the BBC. Credit: Gareth J Bond via Storyful
